Twisted Classics Submissions
Where we look at some of the new stuff coming out during the Twisted Classics Jam
While we might not have won an Ennie, I’m still super proud of the Liminal Horror team and all the things we have coming up (and there’s always The Parthenogenesis of Hungry Hollow next year).

The Parthenogenesis of Hungry Hollow
Things have been moving along with the release of The Parthenogenesis of Hungry Hollow. We had the digital release on both itch and drivethrurpg!
We just heard back from the printer that the books are finished and are shipping to Space Penguin Ink. This is awesome news, and we’ll have more info as we get timeline estimates!
There’s still time to pre-order through backerkit (https://the-parthenogenesis-of-hungry-hollow-for-liminal-horror.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders)!
Twisted Classics Jam
There is about 2 weeks left on the Twisted Classics Jam, and items are starting to roll on in! There have been some fantastic entries so far, and I’m looking forward to what is to come!

On The Hill by M. Allen Hall is a twisted retelling of B5: Horror on the Hill (TSR, 1983) created for the Liminal Horror Twisted Classics Jam.
It does not matter if the new signs read “Gareth Pines State Park.” The locals will always call it The Hill, and they will always say it with a wary glance out the window. The trail maps and spray-painted blazes have done nothing to allay their superstitious fear of The Hill and its abandoned monastery.
But the tourists still come. Whispered warnings at the gas station will not stop them from venturing out into the woods. The junkyard full of abandoned cars with out-of-state license plates will not stop them from seeking out the ruins on The Hill. And the tattered “Missing Person” flyers will not stop them from going missing themselves
Jolene: An Eldritch Seductress by Josh Domanski is inspired by the song of the same name by Dolly Parton that has an alluring woman with a sinister secret stalks for victims for a horrid purpose. A formidable foe for you Investigators to face.
Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene / I'm begging of you please don't take my man / Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene / Please don't take him just because you can
Your beauty is beyond compare / With flaming locks of auburn hair / With ivory skin and eyes of emerald green / Your smile it has a wicked twist / Your voice he simply can’t resist / And I terrified of you, Jolene
He talks about you in his sleep / There's nothing I can do but weep / And hope that he resists your call, Jolene
And I can easily understand / How you’re going to kill my man / But there’s nothing I can do to you, Jolene
Recursive Transit: A Psychological Horror One Page Time Loop by Josh Domanski
As if on cue, the lights flicker and the train car shudders. It’s 11:25 and you’ve just passed the Warren Ave station. Your stop is not for about another 25 minutes, just past the Grant Ave station, but thankfully this is an express line, so you don’t have other stops to worry about.
Given the time, it’s just you and your friends in this car at the back of the train and the next 20 minutes seem to sail right by. As the Grant Ave station passes by in a blur, the lights flicker and the train car shudders. It’s 11:25 and you’ve just passed the Warren Ave station.
Luces en el Horizonte by Rubenizer, a Spanish language supplement that addresses the UFO phenomenon and presents Las Cumbres, a hex based location where an alien conspiracy attracts The Agency.
Truck by Mynar Lenahan has investigators hunt an unstoppable truck intent on killing the last six residents of Heart County... and anyone who stands in its way.
Heart County, Texas is the smallest county in America for a reason.
It’s smack bang in the middle of the desert, vultures flying overhead. A scattering of sun-bleached buildings, mostly boarded-up, lingering near the state highway to catch the eye of tired motorists desperate for snacks and a bathroom break.
In short, nobody would live all the way out here if there wasn't something a little strange about them.
And somebody’s killing these people with a truck.
Elevator Game by M. Allen Hall is a horror mystery with missing people. Strange encounters. Rumors. Whispers. But that's just the cost of doing business at Elevator Game.
Missing Person: Blake Sharn. 6'2", electric-blue hair, last seen leaving his house on the way to a show at The Basement at the end of May. If you have any information, please contact Lacie 522-6344
There’s still time for you to create something (big or small) for the jam! If you don’t finish in time you can always create a page, submit it, and then later update the actual file (a nice little itch jam hack).
Also remember that upcoming we will be having the Horrors of the Americas Jam that gathers monsters, Resonant Artifacts, NPCs, Factions, single locations + thread/hook, adventures (one, two and four pages), or longer form adventures from across North America. All you need are coordinates so it can be plotted on a map!
What’s Next for LH
I liked giving a little snap shot last time, so here we go again! What is it we are working on?
We’re still drafting the Haunted House QuickStart Adeventure. (An easy to use starter adventure inspired by the information design of Another Bug Hunt and other great starter adventures)
As the Twisted Classics Jam comes to a close, Josh and I will read through the entries and choose a “winner”
I am working on the support documents for the next Jam “Horrors of the Americas Jam” that will be open to submissions that that gather monsters, Resonant Artifacts, NPCs, Factions, single locations + thread/hook, adventures (one, two and four pages), or longer form adventures from across North America. We are going to create templates for use, the synopsis/support materials, and a pitch for the possible end format that submissions can enter into (a collection perhaps?).
The Mall Remastered. A few edits left on the new content, and this should be coming out in the fall.
Deluxe Edition: We are still wrapping up the draft. There are a few essays, appendices, and the adventures to wrap up prior to diving into editing this beast. One of the additions I’m excited about is a collection of general location maps that Facilitators can use in their games (and can make weird). This is a resource I am always wishing for so I’m glad we are able to make it a possibility. More to come on that one.
Liminal Horror Library
Remember that the Liminal Horror Library collects all the different resources for your Liminal Horror games. We’re at 129 items already! I’m excited to see this grow!

VHS
The title of archivist wasn’t randomly chosen. The act of archiving is important to me. I grew up in libraries (my dad was a librarian), and worked in them in my younger years.
A piece of lore… I have worked archiving William Stafford’s daily writings (Poet Laureate) and was one of the only people to work on Ralph Ellison’s archives (National Book Award Winner).
So collecting things is something I have a passion for, especially analogue works. For a while now I’ve had a CRT set up as part of my work station, but something recently has really clicked, and I’ve developed a drive to build up my horror VHS collection. So I’ve begun the quest to acquire some of my favorite movies on vhs (and find some people who make newer movies in that mode). Maybe I’ll do a catalogue highlight from now on? Who knows?
Discord Community
We have a small but growing discord server for Liminal Horror that is worth popping into, especially if you are interested in the Jam.

The only VHS I would like to track down that I’m sure was thrown into the garbage 30 years ago by my mom is a home made recorded copy of evil dead and the Texas chainsaw massacre with the sticker labels for each individual letter on the spine that I watched over and over as a kid
