It’s been a minute since we’ve had a newsletter update, but we’ve been hard at work, with Josh and I plugging away at the manuscript for the Deluxe Edition while Zach keeps making art and Jert gives his advice on any question that pops through my head about text, word choice, and structure. I’ll have a more Deluxe Edition focused update soon, but I wanted to hop on this morning to highlight the killer Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale on Liminal Horror items and to let you know that The Mall is back in print, and it’s the Remaster no less.
Quick Links:
The Mall Remastered
We’re excited to announce the launch of The Mall Remastered to celebrate it coming back into print. The itch page has been updated with the new files, but we also wanted to make the shift over to Space Penguin special by adding some updates to the text itself.
The Mall Remastered: The Mall is a wet, gooey, practical effects filled TTRPG adventure set in a 199x mall pulled out of time and space. The mall’s denizens are trapped inside with a creature not bound by any one form. It slithers among them now, preparing to assimilate and imitate its victims until no one is left! This Remastered Edition includes four additional pages of content, a narrative tweak where the mall manager is an active antagonist throughout the module, a new map for the reworked lower levels of the mall, along with a complete overhaul on annotation and re-linking for the entire text.”
You can snag it during the Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale for 30% off print (straight from the jump)!

Filthy Loot
Since I don’t only want to hawk my wares, I wanted to shout out a favorite publisher of mine. If you’ve been following along for a while you’ll know I am a huge fan of Filthy Loot. They’re a small press horror publisher who’s work has inspired me throughout Liminal Horror’s inception and subsequent adventure writing. People paying close attention to lore will know that Ira Rat (who runs Filthy Loot) designed the font on the cover of Investigators.
If you are looking for horror short stories/novellas, then you need to start mining Filthy Loot’s back catalog. You won’t be disappointed.
A specific text I want to shout out is a recent collection of essays they published. If you want a peak into the creative brain space to glean what Liminal Horror is all about, we highly recommend checking out Like You Never Had Wings from Filthy Loot. It’s a series of three essays that break down transformation in horror, how the horrors themselves have transformed and how characters are changed and molded by the narratives of horror stories. It’s real good at reinforcing why Fallout is so important in a LH game and inadvertently gets to the core of why we say that Liminal is in reference to character transformation. https://www.filthyloot.com/product/like-you-never-had-wings-transformations-in-horror/
Next Time
We’ll take a look at The Deluxe Edition progress, highlighting the art Zach Hazard Vaupen has made so far, a look at the generic locations Josh has made, and a peak at the test layout I did for the Catalog of the Strange (our bestiary) to see what space we have to play with.
