Gen Con/ENnies sales and Bloody Disgusting Review
Many of us (myself included) aren't able to go to Gen Con, so we might as well get a sale in consolation.
I can’t believe it is already AUGUST! A lot has been going on this past month, and we have a lot planned for fall! Below are some updates you won’t want to miss (and a peak into what is coming up next).

The Bloom
We were featured in the horror magazine Bloody Disgusting: TTRPG ‘The Bloom’ Combines ‘Alan Wake’ With ‘The Last of Us’ in a Surreal Adventure [Review] - Bloody Disgusting (bloody-disgusting.com)
It's always cool to see TTRPGS talked about outside of the usual spaces and Aaron Boehm did a great job not only reviewing The Bloom but introducing audiences to Liminal Horror. If you have a minute you should go give a quick read (as more eyes will help incentivize other sites covering TTRPGs).
It’s also worth noting that the award ceremony for the ENnies is this Friday 8/2/24 at 8pm Eastern Time. Figures crossed!
The, I can’t make it to Gen Con sale!
As many of you know, Gen Con started today. It is one of the largest ttrpg focused conventions we have in the US. If you are like me, you didn’t get a chance to go. But don’t be sad, Jert over Space Penguin decided to do a storewide sale for those of us who couldn’t make it to the halls of Gen Con.
The storewide 20% off sale started today, Thursday August 1st at 8:00 am EDT and ends Sunday August 4th at 11:59 EDT. All orders will be shipped the following Wednesday when they return from Gen Con. This discount will be automatically applied to all orders over $10.00.
So if you haven’t picked up The Bloom, Shelterwood, or Liminal Horror Investigators, now is the time. But you can also snag any of the amazing zines in their catalogue.

The Parthenogenesis of Hungry Hollow
I’m beyond excited to see this progress near completion! All digital files are completed (fulfillment through backerkit, itch, and drivethru coming soon), we’ve sent the print files to the printer, surveys have gone out to backers (we’re at 89% completion), and our pre-order store is up!
If you missed out on the backerkit, you still have time to hop on and pre-order. This is not a book you are going to want to miss.

Recursive Transit (Twisted Classics Jam)
If you’ve been following me for any length of time, you know that I love me a time loop. Well, Josh Domanski does too, and they wrote an entry for the Twisted Classics Jam centers around a time loop on a train! This is a great one page adventure (which also is being entered into the One-Page Dungeon Contest).
You can snag the adventure here for the criminally good price of $1.00 https://unenthuser.itch.io/recursive-transit
Quinn’s Quest Review of Mothership (with fantastic advice on playing Horror TTRPGS)
If you haven’t watched it already, Quinn over at Quinn’s Quest did a fantastic review of Mothership (one of my favorite systems/sets of adventures).
It is well worth the watch, especially when he starts to break down what makes playing in a horror ttrpg so much fun. Quinn hits the nail on the head what makes playing horror ttrpgs so fun (the push pull of diametric approaches that when played in make the most memorable time).
How to have the most fun as a horror ttrpg player, by Quinn of Quinn’s Quest:
“Get excited to get hurt!
Grasp the nettle!
HUNGER FOR DEATH
Stay safe out there!
Run like the wind!
Promise you’ll never die”
What’s Next for LH
For those who don’t know, I am a big spreadsheet fan, and that 100% applies to my work as a writer. So this past week I sat down to create a Liminal Horror Roadmap spreadsheet that would map out what we have coming up project wise. On it ended up being 10 projects of varying sizes and priorities. While I’m not going to share every detail, a few sneak peaks won’t hurt:
Josh and I are hard at work drafting a Haunted House QuickStart Adeventure. Inspired by the information design of Another Bug Hunt, we wanted to create an easy-to-use adventure that can act as a starter adventure for tables. What’s nice about being so far along on the Deluxe Edition is that we can weave in things from that work to create a connective tissue between products.
The Mall Remastered. If you have noticed, The Mall is no longer in print at Exalted Funeral. I wanted to take the time before releasing it at Space Penguin to touch up a few things. I relinked the entire document. Added four pages (mostly restructuring the lower dungeon level), added a couple more conversion guides. Touched some stuff up to make Mr. Neil an alive and active antagonist in the adventure. Here’s a look at the new and improved lower level (basement and dungeon)
Another Jam? Josh and I are already planning the next jam. It arose out of my earlier idea (see the archives of twitter) about a Horrors of the Americas grand campaign. So start thinking about monsters, Resonant Artifacts, NPCs, Factions, single locations + thread/hook, adventures (one, two and four pages), or longer form adventures. These can be set anywhere in North America (all they need is coordinates to be included on a map). More to come, but start that imagination, especially since we are working on how to collect them into a printable guidebook of horror content. The goal will be to have a low barrier of entry (variable sizes and content) to elicit as much participation as possible.
So there are three entries on the roadmap (a little under 1/3). Stay tuned for more as we get into fall and the Deluxe Edition ramps up (and with it some of the other projects that are in it’s orbit).
