Ennie and working on the Deluxe Edition
A beginning of July check in on all things Liminal Horror
Hey all!
As summer is in full swing we’ve been busy on what seems like 100 different projects! It has been a minute so I wanted to pop in and give some updates!
QUICK OVERVIEW
ENNIE AWARDS
I was excited yesterday to hear that The Mall Remastered was nominated for the Best Adventure (Short Form) Ennie Award. For those who don’t know, every year games get nominated by a pannel of judges, and then anyone can cast their vote for the different award categories. Don’t you worry, I’ll definitely be doing another send out asking for y’all to vote for The Mall!
You can find digital and print copies below. In honor of the nomination we’re running a 60% off sale on The Mall over on itch, so grab it if you don’t have it!

DELUXE EDITION UPDATES
Here are some updates on the Deluxe Edition Dev Process!
PRINT PROOF ORDERED: Given the size of the book (432 pages) we ordered a sample copy from our printer. This will allow us to see how layout and design translates to the page. This will help us make color, margin, and gutter adjustments to make the best product we can. It will also allow us to determine final weight and size, which is the last piece of the puzzle for the BackerKit survey and preorder pages going up!
BACKERKIT SURVEY: We are finishing up the BackerKit survey and are just waiting on final weights to be able to get accurate shipping estimates. Once those are in we will be launching the surveys. It is important that once those go out you finalize the info! That is also where you will be able to add any additional items. Completing the survey will also allow us to start the digital fulfillment. We will be doing 2 waves (the first wave including all the previously released content, and the second wave with the new content unlocked by the campaign).
PHYSICAL COPIES OF EINFÜHLUNG: A lot of people have been wondering about being able to order a physical copy of "Einfühlung", the Haunted House Starter Scenario Zine that was unlocked during the campaign. While we unlocked the digital version of this for all backers, we didn’t hit the 150k to get everyone a free zine. Despite this, we’ll still be able to print copies and make backers able to add them to their pledges. (trust me, you won’t want to miss out).
PREORDER STORE: We will be opening up the preorder store for those who missed out on the original campaign. This will be going up when the surveys launch (it is also waiting on the weights and info from our publisher).
DEVELOPMENT PROGRESS LOGISTICS
What's an update without a look at where we are in the dev-process.
CULT CLASSIC: Josh Domanski has been finishing up Cult Classic for the book (one of the unlocked stretch goal scenarios for inside the book). That will proceed soon to editing and layout within the final text.
Einfühlung: Goblin Archives just finished the draft for "Einfühlung", a Haunted House Starter Adventure Zine. After teh initial layout, there are a few extra pages of content to add, then it’s off to editing and design bootcamp. Every backer will get a digital copy, and physical prints of the zine will be available for preorder in the backerkit.
Case Files 01: Is almost complete. Initial editing, layout, and final design touches are occurring this very weekend. It’ll get a final proof pass but we’re excited by how this one turned out. Our vision is that Case Files is our collection zine, much like OSR’s Carcass Crawler or The Gauntlet’s Codex. We have issue 02 almost completely written as well. Our aim is for 2-3 a year, with Case Files 01 coming out in the fall, and Case Files 02 early 2026. Here’s some spread previews!!!

WHAT WE’RE WORKIN ON IN JULY!
We’ll probably make a voting push for the Ennies as it is determined by ttrpg fans!
Deluxe Edition Layout: Goblin to get the rest of the text into the layout templates created by Josh so that they can do the design alterations/punch ups.
Deluxe Edition Design: Josh will punch up the design for the Deluxe Edition, making it one of the best looking books on the market.
Deluxe Edition Line Editing: We’ll definitely be taking a few passes at the text to make sure everything is in place. We probably will release an early version for people to look at and see if there are any spelling mistakes, etc.
Deluxe Edition Annotating: Goblin gets to create a massive index and internal hyperlinking which he’s looking forward to with equal amounts of excitement, humility, and dread.
Deluxe Edition Generic Locations: Josh will finish the maps for the generic locations.
HORROR OF THE AMERICAS JAM: Don’t think we’ve forgotten about this. People are still working away on their entries! One of the resulting goals of this jam was to have people also submit their work to be included in a community Print On Demand book full of different Liminal Horror adventures, supplements, and content. The book as it stands now is around 140 pages and counting (I spent the holiday gathering all the files together to get a sense of what we had so far). This is a project you won’t want to miss. And if you are interested in writing something for it, there is still time (its running until August 15th): https://itch.io/jam/horror-of-the-americas-jam
Hope everyone has a great start to July! I’ll definitely be popping back in once voting begins for the Ennies and as we have more things to share. July should be a busy month Liminal Horror wise!
A well-deserved nomination!
And that Einfühlung cover looks sick
Congrats on the indication!
