Welcome to #6 in our Deluxe Edition Preview Series!
As we gear up for the April 15th launch on Backerkit we have been exploring what is contained within the book and upcoming campaign.
Since we have delved into what is contained within the book, now its time to take a peak at what we have upcoming for the campaign, what stretch goals and options will be available!!!
FOLLOW ON BACKERKIT TO BE NOTIFIED OF OUR APRIL 15TH LAUNCH!
The previous newsletter entries focused on:
Chapter 1: Investigators Guide (the core rules and character creation section of the book)
Chapter 2: Facilitator’s Guide (essays on how to run and create horror at the table)
Chapter 5: The Appendices (tools, supplements, and extra doodads)
As always, remember that things are still subject to change as we’re in the editing and layout process. Even so, this should give a good look at what you’re going to get with Liminal Horror Deluxe Edition.
WHAT CAN YOU GET?
One of the biggest questions has been, what can I get during the campaign? Well, the short answer is you can get a copy of Liminal Horror Deluxe Edition, but what about specifics.
We are currently working on layout, but our estimation is that the book should be anywhere from 375-430 pages in length (it’s currently sitting at WC of 118,532.
As for physical design it is currently at similar specs to Hungry Hollow in terms of hardcover, dimensions (6x9), and quality.
But are there different options? Why yes, yes there are.
DIGITAL PDF
Digital: You can back just the digital pdf of the book. As with all of our products, we really put the time to put out a top of the line digital package:
We designed LIMINAL HORROR: Deluxe Edition to be the best possible version of the game, with a priority on usability, function, and a fun, seamless experience for players and Facilitators alike. And so, in keeping with the work that made LIMINAL HORROR so popular to begin with, we will be supporting this release with a collection of digital tools and improvements, including:
Hosting the Player-Facing Investigators Guide and an assortment of character option tools on the liminalhorrorrpg.com website.
Digital Play Aides and reference guides covering rules, creating an Investigator, procedures of play, and the character sheet.
An annotated Guide to Solo Play with references to all the rules, content, and dice roll tables you need to run a one-person Investigation.
Text Anchoring, Bookmarking, and Hyperlinking for quickly and easily navigating the PDF version of LIMINAL HORROR: Deluxe Edition.
STANDARD DELUXE EDITION
The standard Deluxe Edition hardcover with all the text both in print and digitally.
“LUXE” LIMITED RUN CLOTHBOUND VERSION
To celebrate the backerkit launch, Zach Hazard Vaupen designed a special Luxe cover. This will be a limited run that won’t be printed after the backerkit campaign. The only way to truly guarantee your copy of this version is to back it here, as after we run out they’ll be retired. The inside bits are the same, but the outer binding will set it apart on your shelf.
ADD-ONS AND TIERS
Many of the tiers include different Liminal Horror modules that you can add to your collection. The Mall Remastered, The Bloom, Hungry Hollow, and Liminal Horror Investigators (perfect player copies for quick reference at the table). You can also add multiple copies of the standard and limited luxe versions of the Deluxe Edition!
Note:
One Night at the Shelterwood Inn is not available as an add on during the campaign but can be purchased over at Space Penguin Ink
The Bureau is not available during the campaign and remains out of print. But note that we are actively giving it a refresh similar to The Mall Remastered and keep your eyes/ears open for its release date.
STRETCH GOALS
Now is the other portion that I would bet you’ve been waiting for…what type of stretch goals do we have planned for this campaign? The answer is some amazing ones.
I’ll share the first four, but be warned there are more on the horizon that will be revealed!
Book Ribbon
Every physical copy of LIMINAL HORROR: Deluxe Edition will feature a book ribbon to help you keep your place when an Investigation starts getting hectic.
Adventure #1: "Camp Coldwater"
This adventure serves as a prequel to The Bloom, and can be expanded to become part of the larger Investigation there... assuming your Investigators can survive a night at Camp Coldwater. The first addition to the core text of LIMINAL HORROR: Deluxe Edition.
Adventure #2: "Cult Classic"
Missing actresses, exclusive dinner parties, and the fanatical congregation of "The Church of Celestial Science": what do these things have in common? They'll all be included in LIMINAL HORROR: Deluxe Edition if we hit this stretch goal, that's what!
Adventure #3: "Silent Street Station"
This adventure showcases some of the new innovations found in LIMINAL HORROR: Deluxe Edition, and is designed to teach Facilitators how they can adapt the optional rules and Generic Locations for use at their table. Something has broken loose from Panopticon’s labs, and its spreading.
