Crowdfunding Projects, APs, and a flash sale
A quick check in on things we think are pretty cool.
I know it’s been a minute, but between our day jobs and working on the Deluxe Edition we’ve been busy lads.
Deluxe Edition Progress
We’re making progress on wrapping up the manuscript to pass over to Jert for edits. Our current focus has been restructuring and punching up the Catalog of the Strange (our bestiary of sorts). I am beyond excited for you all to take a gander at this part as it may be tied for my favorite chapter (alongside the generic locations maps).
Once we pass off the manuscript Josh and I will work on the adventures and then its on to layout!
Crowdfunding to keep an eye on
Between Zimo/ZineQuest and our upcoming unofficial Liminal Horror Month (when we launch the deluxe edition) there’s definitely some projects you won’t want to miss.
Crowdfunding now
A Perfect Wife (5 days to go). They're really close to the Liminal Horror stretch goal for A Perfect Wife (£235 away which is almost $300 if I google mathed it correctly) "STRETCH GOAL: Compatibility with Liminal Horror. Inspired by the ease and sensibility of Goblin Archive's Liminal Horror, Zedeck will adapt its Cairn- / ITO-derived ruleset for use with A PERFECT WIFE. While the adventure's structure will stay unchanged (therefore remaining easily adaptable to your preferred ruleset), the zine will arrive with out-of-the-page support for players familiar with LH!"
A tabletop RPG adventure about the pontianak, a female spirit from Malaysian / Indonesian belief—her beginning in traumatic childbirth; her habits terrorising misogynist douchebags; her capture and servitude.
A 24-page zine with art by Amanda Lee Franck (Vampire Cruise, Crush Depth Apparition) and Scrap World (Fire On The Velvet Horizon, Noofutura) and writing by Zedeck Siew (Lorn Song Of The Bachelor, Reach Of The Roach God). Published by Copy/Paste Co-op (ECO MOFOS, Lone Eons).
Appalachian Horror (12 days to go). This is that project from that team of students in Germany who created a Liminal Horror adventure!
"Appalachian Horror: A Liminal Horror Zine" is a collection of adventures, monsters, artifacts, and characters based on the Liminal Horror: Investigators Edition rulebook, set in the Appalachian region. Appalachia is a vast, ancient mountain range in the eastern part of North America, known for its expansive, dense forests that exude a primeval atmosphere. This zine draws on the region’s rich folklore and history, offering a glimpse into the unique character of Appalachia.
Soul to Keep (13 days to go). While this isn’t LH related, but it looks cool and comes from M. Belanger, who did some consulting on the vampire scenario for Case Files.
Soul to Keep is a duet horror roleplaying game with win conditions where two players compete for control of the body they both currently inhabit. Inspired by tales of possession, creepy kids, and haunted houses, one player assumes the role of a paranormal investigator who has chosen the wrong house to explore. The other player is the ghost of a drowned child who wants a new forever friend. The goal of the Investigator is to escape the house. The goal of the Ghost is to drag the Investigator into death with them. Players move along a room track with a push-pull mechanic that heightens the sense of struggle.
Cryo Drakus: An Alien Reconnaissance RPG (12 days to go). From friend of LH Marco Serrano aka Spicy Tuna RPG.
Cryo Drakus is a game of reconnaissance, fear, and uncertainty. Mysterious alien hives slowly populate around Earth 50 years after we barely survived our first alien invasion. The governments of the world refuse to engage, instead focusing on strengthening Earth's defensives, leaving it up to independent pilot groups to gather necessary intel.
Players are rogues doing their small part in protecting Earth. They deploy to alien bases, gather samples, and scan for intrigue. While there, pilots collect and lose upgrades, wisely utilize and reserve their power, and prevent themselves from being assimilated.
Back on Earth players study their findings, trade and sell their newfound information with other rogues, and prepare for the next mission.
E.V.I.L. (Every Villain Is A Loser) (10 hours to go). this is from Reilly of Afterthought Committee. I’m technically editing it, but I have yet to even see a draft hahah.
Every Villain Is a Loser, or EVIL for short, is the brand new tabletop role-playing game by Afterthought Committee for all you henches, minions, lackeys, and goons.
In this GM-optional game, you play the true stars of every superhero story; a villain's Minion. Superheroes are putting people out of their jobs and now an honest day's living is hard to come by for the average nobody. Luckily, villains are always hiring for their next big score.
You've just landed your first gig with the Enterprising Villains Investment League with an up-and-coming villain. You and the rest of their crew will take on thrilling heists, concoct nefarious plots, and complain about what a loser your boss is as you each attempt to claw your way up the ranks in pursuit of a bigger and better payday.
Soon you'll be the one to show everyone how a real villain operates!
Relics & Reliquaries from DNGN Club (13 days to go). A massive system agnostic collection (so could be used with Liminal Horror) of 100+ tools, friends, foes, encounters, items, curses and more for your favorite TTRPGs.
Packed with over 100+ unique items, tools, locations, adventures, creatures, roll tables and more.
Perfect as a session or campaign preparation tool, or as a spur-of-the-moment inspiration for tonight's game.
A collection of curiosities, curses, and companions spanning the genres of Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Modern, and Horror, retooled and presented in two books.
RELICS PART II is the home of the the GM facing content and presented in a fully indexed PDF.
RELIQUARIES PART II contains all the rewards and items for your players, presented in a high quality deluxe Zine & PDF.
Tourist Hole (16 days to go). This is an upcoming project from Mike Martens (an amazing writer and designer). Its quick-play RPG of fateful roadtrips (All who wander are lost).
You've seen signs for it, littering the desert vista for hours. "NO SCIENTIST. NO PHILOSOPHER. DARES EXPLAIN. THE MYSTERIOUS QUESTION POINT." Letters painted so boldly they seem to shout over the lull of oldies drifting through the car radio. No other explanation follows, other than a countdown of miles as you approach Exit 276.
You've seen people lose their senses, lose their wallets, lose their ways in places like this. And you're beginning to wonder if they're all connected.
That girl in the "I Screeeaaaam for Ice Cream" t-shirt and dollar-store flip flops. That fella in a puffy jacket and rainbow Chucks. Why do you see them in every one of these spots? Maybe they're not just riding along this highway at your exact pace.
Maybe they're part of it.
Hell, maybe you'll be part of it too, soon.
The thing beneath all of these places.
